The highly popular Friends Heritage Walks start on Friday 11th September 2026.
And all the tours for 11th, 13th, 14th, 18th and 20th September have been fully booked.
It is clear that this year’s theme – ‘Houses Through Time’, which is the incredible history of the people who lived in the houses surrounding Hamilton Square – has been a hit.
Our Heritage Walk will focus on some of these Georgian Grade Listed buildings. These special Walks are part of the Wirral heritage events programme.
The Walks are being led by Margret Henderson, MA Heritage & Archaeology, the who is the professional historian to the Friends. Her research into the history of the whole area is invaluable to maintaining a watching brief on projects that affect the Square.
Other committee members of the Friends aim to be available during these one hour Walks. And you never know, but there may be a bit of Victorian or Edwardian elegance to enliven your experience.
