[Image] Another alteration of a Listed office building in Hamilton Square to create 5 more self-contained flats has been proposed.
While the Friends of Hamilton Square would welcome more families to the Square, we need to ensure that those families have the best, yet retain the Georgian Heritage which is so important to Birkenhead now and generations to come. We have made suggestions to improve fire safety in this Listed building, as well as the Basement flat layout.
The submitted proposal is, unfortunately , lacking in some key factors such as a Basement apartment design which means the domestic waste disposal has to go through the main bedroom. And there is a high risk of of proliferation of waste bins outside the front of this Grade 1 Listed Georgian terrace against Local Plan Policy WD2.
Therefore planning objection has been raised to this submitted application.
